Does psychotherapy work?
Many clinical research studies have validated that psychotherapy is generally effective
in helping individuals of all ages to improve their emotional well-being, enhance their way
of relating to other people, and make desired changes in behavior. Couples and family
counseling have been shown to improve the quality and nature of relationships.

How can therapy help me?
A number of benefits are available from participating in psychotherapy. Therapists can
provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues
such as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief,
stress management, body image issues and creative blocks. Many people also find
that counselors can be a tremendous asset to managing personal growth,
interpersonal relationships, family concerns, marriage issues, and the stresses of daily
life. Therapists can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in
the direction of a potential solution.

What insurances do you accept?
As a clinic, we accept most major insurances. The acceptance of specific insurances can vary among individual providers. Please contact your insurance company prior to beginning services to determine your eligibility. Our staff is also available to assist you.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.

Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is considered a high priority for our clients.  However, there are a few legal/ethical limitations to confidentiality including harm to self or others, abuse/neglect of minors or vulnerable adults, and in the rare case when required by law in legal proceedings.

What if I don't have insurance or don't want to use it?
In some cases individuals or families pay out-of-pocket for therapy. Even if you have
insurance coverage, some wish to not use it. The advantage to self-pay is that the
insurance company has no say in your care. Please call our office for rates.

Will I be able to get an appointment quickly?
Please call our office at (763) 682-5420 to check on therapist availability. We make
every effort to schedule clients as soon as possible. Same day appointments are often
available.

How long do sessions last?
A session typically runs 45-50 minutes.

How long will I have to be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies widely based on individual need, and is based on collaborative decision-making between the therapist and client.

Do you prescribe medication?
Our office does not prescribe medication but does work closely with your primary care provider/psychiatrist to meet your medication needs.
